   I have just taken this off the handlebars of my new (to me) bike.Anyone any idea what it is.

Positively for a auxiliary power socket. I've just looked at some on eBay, 1" 1/8". Same size as on your bracket in metric.  :thumb:

   It already has an auxillary twinpower socket in a hole on the dash,this is being removed and replaced with a voltmeter.Anyboby want either the bracket or socket.F.O.C.
