My Bike DL650-17
« on: January 19, 2019, 14:46:24 »
After many years doing track days on my GSXR 1000 K6, and riding on the public highways. Decided I needed something softer and slower that still provided the fun factor. So my first Strummer was purchased. WOW I love it..
It is the basic model but added a few goodies, undercowl from XT model, aftermarket hand guards, aftermarket mirrors, and finally a Danmoto exhaust with an internal baffle fitted.
Only gripe I had was the front steering was vague in cornering and more than once moved when blustery winds. So dropped forks 5mm in yoke and this is now alot more confident in cornering and stability. Been out nearly every weekend since purchase 2 months ago.. Looking to do my first euro tour in the coming months.

Is this an introduction?
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

I too came from bigger bikes to my 650. I'm certainly having no less fun on it. It's great being able to use more of what the engine has to give in public roads.
What changed my mind was when I purchased my Vespa GTS300. I found myself having more fun on it than my big bikes (power aside).

There's always a big push for lots of power these days but you can rarely use it on the road.  And there's something satisfying about getting the most out of an engine and working it.
