Followed the recent air-filter change with an oil and filter change (chrome filter )
Oil was very clean as done last year (1200 miles only) but needed to change the oil filter as on there 4 years and 2000 miles (in surprisingly good nick).
Tried taking the front wheel off but the paddock stand didn't lift the wheel enough, so strapped the new tyres on the rear seat / rack and booked it in at Robinsons Foundry for tyre change and MOT next Thursday.  :thumb:

I've managed to do a few coats of paint on the bolts now. I don't think you'll actually see the cylinder cover bolts but it's quite therapeutic knowing they're done.
This was four coats of aluminium zinc spray, and two coats of black car paint (they've had another two coats this evening)

Fitted Shad 3P SH23 panniers set to my 2017 650.   Had a bit of a problem with one of the bolts shearing off during tightening!!  😡😡.  But all in all it was a simple upgrade.  Shad appear to have listened to customers and changed their fixing spacers to move the panniers a little further out.  Some customers had reported not being able to open and close the panniers when fitted with the original small spacers.
By default the fixing brackets come with the SH35/36 planners locking end caps.  The SH23 end caps are in one of the pannier boxes and are a quick an easy change.  But the 3rd lock provided for the top box is the none premium lock and won’t fit the SH48 and above top boxes.   Good quality, well pleased!!   :lala: :lala: :lala:

I rode it for the first time since Mr Boris told me I couldn't.

Only 50 miles as I thought I would be a bit rusty, but it went pretty well.

Down to Avebury,  over to Marlborough and home on a few lanes.

It's nice to be back out there.

Finally dodged the thunderstorms and had tyres / mot sorted at Robinsons today in Canterbury.
Great service and recommended.
Even started looking at Guzzi's and Royal Enfields...(think its the chrome exhausts and simplicity to work on, with everything easily accessible that I liked...)
Most of all, a nice ride there and back with the lad on his 125  :thumb:

I wheeled the bike out of the garage for the first time since early March. Flushed the coolant system and pushed it back into the garage. I've reinstalled the radiator, airbox and the whole cooling system. I'm hoping I might get time to work on it this week and get it started...

My Wee is the winter bike so its been sorned for a while and have been riding non Suzuki bikes. Went to start it and no go, had the starter button apart and it all looked good, then looked at the manual for the circuit diagram and noticed the clutch.....yes I had a brain fade and did not pull the clutch in  :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead:
It started first touch and ran perfectly

That looks like the same spot we stopped at a few years ago, directly opposite a chippy etc...  :thumb:
