Just been out to the bike to find the local cats have peed all over it, sticks of the stuff, it's been clean for weeks only had cover off for a few hours, good job the dog did not see them. :dl_soapbox:

"Dampening". Dampening gets things a bit wet. Moist, almost. Damping, however, is a reduction in the amplitude of an oscillation as a result of energy being drained from the system to overcome frictional or other resistive forces.
Or, to put it another way, one of the settings we keep dicking about with on our forks / rear suspension.
Not dampening.
.... and, breathe.....

I'm with you on this one Rusty. These things have to be said. It's not about correction as much as for the education of all others who will read it.
I am only just calming down after reading a YouTube comment using "their" as a shortened "they are".
AND
I am more than happy for any and all corrections to the twaddle that I generate.

Sounds like an alternative energy device. "Have you got a Stirling Engine?" "No, but I've got a 70-odd year old Twaddle Generator."

Online shops showing everything you want is in stock until after you order, only put the order status as 'awaiting parts' :dl_smiley_banghead:
Thanks very much Wemoto and Eurocarparts. (At least the latter emailed to apologise and say they'll ship the part order with the remainder being sent in roughly 3-4 days)

Dandelions. We're discussing how to kill dandelions. In a motorcycle forum. For feck's sake! Is this what lockdown has driven us to?

Dandelions are an invasive nuisance, besmirching Britain's green and pleasant lawns. It's only a matter of time before a group of them steal your motorbike and thrash it on some wasteland. They need stamping out now.

We've had mole eradication, why not attack their lunch too?

Thank you Tall.

@SimonW, I posed the question in the Blue Oyster part of the forum. This area I understood to be a free for all, where all topics other than politics, religion and other stuff I can't remember can be discussed.

I am flattered that it caused a moan.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Walter Rohrl.

TLP, I know, but have some decency man - this is a motorbike forum after all :-)

(My wife says salt will kill them, by the way. Not that I mentioned it.)
