Newbie, Just thought I'd say hello
« on: January 28, 2011, 21:34:58 »
Ello everyone just a wee message to say hello, I'm Jeff from N.Ireland and just decided to trade my 08 bandit for a 2010 650 V-strom, should be picking it up on friday morning, I can't bloody wait!!

Only been riding on the roads a few monthsbut been involved in motocross since I was wee, the bandit was my first bike and although it's an amazing machine and in mint condtion I still struggle to get used to the sportbike style and different cornering techniques etc. Got a ride on a v-strom yesterday and was hooked, I thought I was over the "alien" feel of the bandit and getting comfortable with it but good god the wee-strom felt so natural to me I just had to look into it further, so about 10 mins thinking about it and 3 hours hammering out a deal, its done and I wish I was off work this week so I could go get it asap and not wait till friday!

Treat life's little problems like your dog would ... If you can't eat it or shag it, ... Piss on it and walk away!!!

Its a black 2010 Demo bike with 84 miles on it, also wangled a full set of luggage, Its an X model so I get handguards and the bashplate etc already there so I'm all pleased, just need to subscribe to BIKE magazine and get a set of heated grips cheap! all I be giving up is the abs on the bandit which I'm not toooo bothered about really.

I have a yoshimura exhaust on my bandit that ill be keeping to sell on but I was also thinking is there any way to get it onto the V-strom???? without a load of cutting and how do they react to different cans??

You probably will need some cutting and modifying, would be better off selling it and buying an exhaust that's made to fit the Wee. Note that the newer and older Wee exhausts aren't compatible, the new ones need a full system AFAIK (as opposed to a different end can.) There should be a few discussions about heated grips on the forum so have a search around if you haven't yet decided which to get.
