Dunlop Roadsmart 4 Anyone?

(1/1)

Curly9:
Hi boys and girls, anyone ever used Dunlop Roadsmart 4's on their Bike?

I've used Pilot Roads in the past which have always been really decent but wear has always seemed to be a bit premature. So thinking of giving these a go after a lot of research. They're billed as being as good as if not slightly better than PR6's but nothing like asking the users themselves.
Anyone able to help on this? I ride a V-Strom 1050. TIA.

UK_Vstrom650:
I got 19,000 miles out of Roadsmart 3s on the 650 (although they stood up by themselves when removed - I was doing a lot of motorway riding at the time so being squared off wasn't too much of an issue).

I've never had an issue with any tyres for the riding I do, though would happily refit Roadsmarts back on. (currently have PR5s but only because they were cheaper than the Roadsmarts at the time)

Curly9:
Thanks mate, appreciate the reply.

UK_Vstrom650:
Let us know if you do get the 4s, would be interested to hear how you find them.
Here's a picture of the tyre looked like on the day it was swapped.
(they said I'd go my money's worth - proper Yorkshire  :thumb:)

Gert:
The engine (compression) braking on the DL000, KLV and DL1050 models is a lot more pronounced than that of the DL650.
I'm of the opinion that engine braking would be a major contibuting factor to the lower tyre mileage on these bigger capacity motors.
