For my Tracer I used some sheet ally and cut it the size I wanted. Paint it a colour to match your bike. Just like a number board

Look up a company called Moose Racing, I know they did a shorty screen for gen 1s but not sure which year yours is.

You could try Eagle Screens, they are a Western Australian company. They make screens with a range of heights for all versions of the VStrom.
