have you been out for a spin yet Snow?
During our ride today I had the rear tyre step out on me 3 times.
One accelerating from a roundabout up a dual carriageway, one coming out of a garage forecourt and one at 60mph doing an overtake. The latter one caused poo to come out.
And to add insult to injury I've been chasing the mrs all around West Wales... this having a slower bike than her in not funny anymore. I'm buying a ZZR1400.
The cause of the slides were discovered to be my scotoiler threw a paddy and was gushing oil all over the place.
The Mrs could see oil fling come off the rear sprocket after we'd stop at lights or waiting to pull out for more than 20 seconds. Turned it right down and I was then OK after a few miles. I haven't adjusted it since getting the bike, just filled it up. Further investigations are needed tomorrow.
On the up side, I now have the worlds best oiled chain... and rear tyre.
Oh yeah, my old air filter was well and truly past it's best. Suzuki say the Strom's filter should be changed every 11k miles... that was bo***cks... but Mr Honda says replace after 11k not bo***cks. At 20k the thing was black... really black. Clogged I think the term is, but I won't be seeing the K&N one for a year now, we'll see how that pans out.
Oh and if anyone moans about how difficult it is to take the Strom's tank off... come round an have a go of my Varadero... you need 3 pairs of hands all 9ft apart and tiny little hands with vice like grip. 2 fuel taps, who thought that one up. My garage still smells of unleaded.
