Hi.
I am 70 years old and have been riding since I was old enough to get a licence.
Lots of experience including several years as a Police motorcyclist.
I have had a lot of bikes but never a big adventure bike and having sold my Bandit 1200 I thought it was time to calm down a bit and bought a 2009 DL1000GT.
In case you are wondering the calmed down lasted all of 10 miles. It is an absolute hoot! Especially with the Beowulf cans.
Comfortable, quick(ish) and for a big tall bike handles OK.
My only gripe was the over large rear view mirrors which dominated the forward view. The have been replaced by some small and neat bar end mirrors.
The fun goes on.

Hi and :welcome:

:welcome2: to you John, glad to hear you are getting on with your new bike!
Once used to the height and foibles they are a great fun machine, and competent mile muncher, and that motor is a gem if you like your v twins.
I'm sure you will have fun here, and learn some fine tips on the bike as there is a wealth of knowledge on them.
