Guess the Price

Just about ready to change my Michelin Road’s for a new set. Got in touch with dealer in Falkirk who quoted £245 supplied and fitted (have to take bike in). Got in touch with another in Edinburgh who quoted, and I kid you not, £324.48!! This included £75 for fitting. Unbelievable.

I just had 5GT's fitted  120/70 , 190/50, best price round here ride in ride out £335.... Another thing is the number of tyre places prepared to do ride in ride out is reducing, a lot want loose wheels now!!! and I cannot be arsed !! :old: :old:

Top of the range tyres ain't cheap but you get what you pay for .
Off the top of my head we would be around £300 - £320 for a set fitted for the 5 GTs

How do they feel Tusker ..?

I’ve had Michelin PR 4’s and 5’s and happy to pay for the quality and reassurance - you get what you pay for. The main point I’m making is that one dealer quotes a decent price of £245, which is what I expected but another says £324 for the same tyres and fitting. That’s taking the piss.

barely scrubbed, only managed 40 miles, but that thing I said about how the bike feels like it falls into corners with Battlax on seems to be solved. I now have to turn in!! which is still ridiculously easy. I'm off for 3 days up in the North Lakes Saturday morning so I ill let you know after that !!..

Yes, just had tyres done on mine places were after £300 to £400 fitted to bike dependant on type!!
Also had to go local as the front was badly perished between the blocks and recently the handling was iffy...
So I bought the tyres from M&P (ordered Avon Trail ended up with Metz Tourance) for £150 in the end.
Tyres fitted, new valves (old ones perished but they were originals from 2012) and MOT for a shade over £100.
So tyres & Mot for £250, which was what I expected to pay...
Is there a shortage on rubber trees out there?? lol
