Another great ride out in the sun - two days running for me. 80 miles this time.

The plan was to see if a potential new job was commutable and in what sort of time, but I took a detour on the way back to add to the Dodgy Place Name Game. Let's see some more entries on that this year!

We went for a great ride today 74 miles rtn on the A17 towards to Boston from Kings Lynn for tea and cake in a nice tea room we have been before we could of had lunch but it was a bit early for that, but we did drop in on the Sports bike shop near Boston, they have some great deals there. the v-strom 650 returned 72.8 mpg at 60 mph two up I am happy with that.

Arrived in Kathmandu. Bike looks like its done the Lands End Rally so will look at car washes tomorrow but I know it will get covered again soon as road building is in its infancy in Nepal/India.

Thanks, just twisted my left knee. A&E later. Just...! Pulled something bad, but not broken.

Clutch bleeding today. Easy peasy :) Great cheap piece of tool with one way valve at the end. No need to open and close valve like with traditional hose. Open valve half turn, top up fluid to the top and pump. Repeat until fluid going out is clear. Close after and remove tool. Job done.

I used this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MOTORCYCLE-ONE-MAN-BRAKE-BLEED-KIT-UNIVERSAL-SINGLE-PERSON-BRAKE-BLEEDER/152067958271?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&fbclid=IwAR12OtUido7R9yGF9G_cj4vbdFofw8h50YDQ-lOQ4SAtp3l3IZ-xOrcCWt0

It was time to do it, fluid was dark and full of tiny bits and pieces. Probably done many years ago....

I did an upgrade on my headlamp, fitted a H7 Halogen bulb in the dip beam. The LED conversion that had been fitted was very bright and did a great job of lighting up roadside furniture and oncoming drivers/riders faces but projected very little light where I wanted it on the road in front of the bike, much safer for me and other road users   :)

Took myself on a 60 mile ride out, only on B Roads, to get myself lost somewhere and then come back home again. That is why I ride a bike.

Great weather so no cleaning to do, just ride it and put it away.

I have removed the Givi top box bracket as I never use the top box, it just looks awkward so sits collecting dust in the garage.

That left the rack looking a bit empty and unfinished, so mocked up a quick laser cut plate this afternoon on spacers so at least it now looks like a useable rack again. I will order some 10mm black Perspex and make another one next week, the white is all I had to hand today.

Got to love making stuff for your bike, even when not needed  :)

Watched the Odo pass 47,000 miles then on to 47,100. Unfortunately it was motorway riding to Newcastle today for work so a bit boring.

@graingerblaze a bungalow has just come on the market just across the road from me. Not directly opposite as that would be creepy.

You could buy it.

I could suggest things that you could make for me.

We could be friends.

It would be nice.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Couldn't you make somewhere for the kids to live?

Another 70 miles of getting myself lost on purpose.

I managed to get on some lanes that were not only >50 years old, but didn't show on my Sat Nav which had maps on it that were more recent than the milk in my fridge.

Several blind 1:4 hairpins coming out of the village of Syde where you couldn't see more than a car length away in front of you. First gear and creeping along. Shrubbery overgrown so much that it pushes you out of the normal gravel free tyre track sections towards the rockery up the middle of the "road".

It seems intense at the time, but looking back I realise how much I love doing that sort of ride.

Had a similar ride on unmade roads of stone/dirt around the back streets of Delhi, dropping off my bike to be airfreighted to Almaty in Kazakhstan. I have survived India with only two impacts to the bike. The offside pannier looks like the Hulk has given it a kicking. The temperature was so bad the gauge just gave up on numbers and just read H. I.
