Can you fit earlier silencers to a 2024 1050?

Dave hendy:
With my 1050 ordered and my wife saying that the sound is a bit boring after my KTM, I am considering a new end can, as I don’t like the size either (although I don’t mind the sound). When I search online most of the silencer’s are dated to 2022 and don’t include the 23- model, but isn’t the exhaust the same? Plus if so, from what year? I am hoping that someone can clarify this as it will give me a better option especially 2nd hand.

Pannier Down:
I had a 2020 1050xt,  now have a 2023 1050 and the exhaust and all fittings look identical to me. I bought a Givi hugger badged for 2022 which fitted straight on the new bike.

Dave hendy:
Thanks for the reply, hopefully that makes things easier.

If it’s a new bike be aware of Suzuki’s warranty terms and conditions.

I was considering changing mine, but Suzuki only authorise some of the more expensive options. My dealer had the list.😱

I stuck with the standard exhaust to save complications.🤷‍♂️

When I got my 650 new I had a LONG chat with the dealer about mods.
He said any warranty claim they make (Suzuki pays the claim ,not the dealer, and has to be OKd by them ) will be followed up by pictures....so?....
I  left it till 10,000 miles to put Nitron suspension on it (just in case I had a lemon) and was told thaŧ would be looked at "favourably" it the event of a claim?
Not sure what that means?
Engine mods not on the accesory list ,not so much.  Hmmmm.
A  non approved can is going to need a reflash /power commander ........and then the warranty is definitely out the window  IF  there is engine trouble (unlikely but.....)
I would leave it for a bit ,get the second service done to keep the warranty uncontestable , then change it, always assuming you are thinking of keeping the warranty up.
Then IF it goes bang you can always sneak the original back on  before you take it in :icon_wink:
