Scottoiler Fitting
« on: October 02, 2018, 11:03:04 »
Hello,

New to the forums, just picked up my new 2017 model DL650XT.  I have ordered a Scottoiler for it, for the Vacuum connection, does anyone know if this can be connected without lifting the tank?

thanks

There are two vacuum take off points on the rear throttle body, use one of those. They are a swine to get to.You have been warned! Not sure about the tank removal,on the earlier bikes just a couple of side covers on the RH side have to come off.
(BTW have you got any plasters handy.) :)

Cancel the order and get a Tutoro. Works better and no vacuum take offs.

Fitted one a few months ago.
Can gain access from the side, a little fiddly but no problem.
No need to remove tank.
From memory the scottoiler site has instructions on-line for the 17+ model.

Just received mine for the glee.  Will probably fit in the next couple of weeks.

The Scottoiler site has instructions for specific models, and I found these quite helpful when fitting one to my Glee (2014), and I managed without lifting the tank etc. Fiddly, but possible with a bit of patience.
However, they don't, so far, have anything for the latest, beaky, single-headlight 650 model. It may well be the same as the Glee, but if it's "Euro 4" compliant, the setup may be different .. Scottoiler give generic instruction for such bikes.
