Screen for 6'4" rider on an 07 Wee
« on: January 02, 2017, 17:47:13 »
Hello all,

Mine has a Madstad bracket and slightly taller than standard screen - rubbish, really.  Reading posts on here, I'm guessing the Givi Airflow is the way to a peaceful ride?

Cheers,

Simon

I've recently fitted the Givi airflow to my Glee, it made such a difference, even on the middle fitting holes with the top screen in the lowest position. I'm 5'11" tall, can now ride with visor up if I want.  Check out the discount code from Bykebitz in member benefits, (fat rat arranged 10% off) excellent service, really quick delivery .

I'm 6"3 and used madstad and airflow, then switched to normal bracket in middle/top (can't remember) with the airflow and found that to be best for me.
Good luck!  :thumb:

I’m 6’4”. I just fitted an airflow on its lowest settings so it didn’t obscure my vision. The difference to the stock screen is remarkable!! I could ride visor up to 70 (maybe even beyond...). Nice flow of air but no buffetting. It’s not too massive in this setting and for me works an absolute treat. If you’re considering it, do it.

Just to set the cat among the gleekstroms, I'm 6'7" and tried a Givi airflow on my wee and it was awful unless it was at full height. The snag with that was it meant I was looking through the screen rather than over it. I fitted an air deflector off an RCA screen to the stock screen and that was perfect. As ever, it is down to personal preferences but given the cost of these things it is wise to try before you buy, if at all possible.

I'm almost 6' 7" and I've tried several tall screen options and 'stick on' top edge deflectors, etc. So many variables, always some vibration/buffeting, etc. The most comfortable compromise for me was to reduce screen height and make it more horizontal, producing quiet calmness at the slight cost of some frontal air pressure. A Madstad bracket worked well on my old 2005 KLV1000, and my prototype wooden blocks work great on my new DL650...
