Title: Omni-Cruise effective/safe?
Post by: chris_yates on February 13, 2020, 09:52:06
Has anybody tried one of these cruise control devices (lever that you tighten over the throttle and rotate onto the front brake lever to maintain speed). Do they work? Are they considered safe?

thanks
Chris

I have one and have used it on 2 of our Thousand mile rides ... works well on the motorway stretches and never had problems...... safe enough as long as you remember to roll off the throttle.

I have one also ...

They are great for giving your hand/wrist a rest on long rides but going up and down hills adjustment is needed .

My one sits on top of my handguard and works fine.

Then let it rest on the hand guards, it's the same principle as using the brake lever.

I used one when I had a rotator cuff injury which meant I had to move my right shoulder every 10mins or so. Worked a treat.

worth paying the extra for the 'made in USA' version or just go for the cheaper copy?

I don't live in Yorkshire so I treated myself to a bit of quality however a cheaper version will do the same job ..
