To Mr Rixington, I had the annoying mirror rattle and fixed it by drilling 2 holes in the lower edge of the plastic mirror body and then squeezing in sealant to the main body void. I squeezed through one hole until the sealant came out of the other, then poked a screwdriver around inside to mix it about.
seems to have worked just fine and the rattle is no more.
Best of all it was free as I already had the sealant left over from another job.

"what a long strange trip it's been"

I have some expanding acoustic foam so may give that a go.
I've taken a punt on a pair of second hand mirrors from a much newer 650, although they have a different part code, the lever brackets are still the same so I'm betting they're just an updated version of the same mirror. They look identical and were a damn sight cheaper than new. I know after market mirrors are a popular option on the Strom but I love the field of view the barn doors give, especially on mirror extenders.

Took it for a run, 249.9 miles but it felt more like 250!!  :)
With the advice I was given from a post a few weeks back we left Pitlochery & rode to Portsoy via Aviemore & returned via Braemar.
Stopped for a full Scottish breakfast in Arbelour & an ice cream in Portsoy plus a few coffees & just a small piece of cake in between.
Quite a few showers but great day out.
Thanks oop North John, Upt North & c.o.o.l Shirt.  :thumb:

Another little loop today. Headed west to Glencoe, Fort William & Spean Bridge. 160 miles, a lot of rain but enjoyed it.

Barbel Mick, if you're into geology then close by Spean Bridge are the Parallel Roads of Glen Roy:

A bit further up the A82 is Fort Augustus and instead of continuing up it, head off to the east side and go up the east side of Loch Ness via the Suidhe viewpoint: https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g551810-d13969539-Reviews-Suidhe_Viewpoint-Fort_Augustus_Loch_Ness_Region_Scottish_Highlands_Scotland.html

Thanks John, last day up here tomorrow and heading East. Going to Arbroath to have a taste of a 'proper' Smokie.  :)
Then, if time (& weather allows) we might nip up the coast to Stonehaven to try a deep fried Mars bar. Never fancied one before but if I can get one from the original 'inventor' then I'm willing to risk it.   :)

Ah one of the delights of the Carron Fish bar! If you're in the area, then having a look at Dunottar Castle is recommended. Even if it's just walking down from the car park and looking across towards it: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Dunnottar+Public+Car+Park/@56.9461156,-2.1970992,15z/data=!4m12!1m6!3m5!1s0x0:0x57f4ae58b40d9895!2sDunnottar+Castle!8m2!3d56.9461156!4d-2.1970992!3m4!1s0x0:0xdd8e82fdb5177ce9!8m2!3d56.9452291!4d-2.2053657

The A90 between Stonehaven and Dundee has average speed cameras, and some mobile ones. I think that they're all looking at front number plates. The A92 coast road is much nicer and if you're into aircraft then this might be worth a visit (not been myself, yet): https://rafmontrose.org.uk/

Another nice run out today, went East to Arbroath then up the coast to Stonehaven. Stayed dry except for the last 5 miles before getting 'home'!  :groan:
But if we hadn't stopped at the Co-op for beer we might have got back dry!  :)
Total of 227 miles today.

Stonehaven. Worst pint of Taylors Landlord ever down by the harbour. Seared in the memory.

I didn't think you could get a bad pint of Landlord Rusty. Glad I didn't have one, it would have ruined the holiday!
On the other hand though, the deep fried Mars bar was bloody lovely.  :icon_drool5:

Led a 220 mile group ride from Mid Norfolk to Olney, Northants and back, mostly on B roads and smaller A roads. Excellent weather, roads and company. Almost certainly my last ride on my Glee as collecting my new 1050 tomorrow, so Glee being sorned, ready to be cleaned, checked over and sold.

Collected bike from Just Motorcycles, Basingstoke who fitted taper head bearings and chain & sprocket set. They looked after it while I was in Wales. Great service.

Today I rode into Exeter to a shop that sells stainless steel nuts, bolts and things I've never seen before, for boats. Bought  lock nuts and bolts for the chain guard then went for a ride to see if they stayed tight. 200 miles later I checked it (after a cup of tea and a couple of pain killers) and it was okay. I'm going to change the oil tomorrow then check it again.

If anybody wants a nice ride on good roads and perfect pictures wherever you point your camera, head to Exmoor. The most beautiful place on earth. I was drinking tea outside a pub when a biker rode up, he lived local and told me a route that I had never done before that ended at Porlock. It was a slow 30/40 mph road but I stopped 4 times just to look around me. Wales to one side and roaming, green hills everywhere. Then off to Lynton again, I must have been there 100 times before heading towards Barnstaple then heading for home.

I've ridden, walked and camped on Exmoor lots of times but today was special. I'll sleep well tonight.  :)

Pointed it South & headed home. Got to the B&B early so did a 100 mile loop to waste a bit of time.   :)
Home tomorrow.

Collected my new bike from the dealer and enjoyed a cracking 110 mile ride home. Very enjoyable, even at running in revs.

That's a smart colour and it looks like your bike has most of the extras, can't see a centre stand?. Nice bike, enjoy.  :thumb:

Isn't it strange how when you change the oil and filter, everything about the bike is better. It sounds, goes, stops and corners better and does more miles per gallon. It even makes me smile more.

Could this just be my imagination?  :icon_wink:

Only when you imagine my bike also runs better. Oil changes always made my stroms gear changes smoother.

Thank you, mainly protective stuff but it does have a centre stand that came as a money off offer with the top box.
Looking forward to getting it run into I can ride it normally.
