After fitting other peoples heated grips I've finally fitted my own today and the post person (it was a man) brought my luggage racks so they went on as well. The racks fit nicely and look good with the Kappa K33n panniers on.  :thumb:

Made and painted a tool tube. This ones big to take either tent poles or gas canisters when camping and anything else of course.
It's made with 100mm drain pipe and acessories and attached with jubilee clips. Total cost 21.75€ or approx. £20. The spray paint I had left over from another 'job'.
So how's it going so far then?

That's a neat storage container, I would love one with compressed air feed, and a bag of flour down the pipe for tailgaters.... :)

A couple of points to note: try the assembly before you glue the parts together, check it doesn't foul anything at the bottom behind the foot peg and more important allow space at the top for the key to release the seat. If it's too long and you've glued it together you'll have to buy a new collar and cap!  :icon_wink:

Fitted on of those back in 2014 ready for Strom Trekkers 7.

With the oem racks space was limited. I used 2x 110mm round exhaust hanging straps.

Sold the rack to a mate with a Wee who now uses the tube to transport his lunchtime Subway.

Yep, nice job, but mine's longer than yours Mr D! The bigger diametre would be better for me but the space at the footrest is limited; plus I wanted to get tent poles in it.  :thumb:

Tried to replace one of my Bikevis bullet led lamps today, (it failed and was replaced FOC), but found I must have wired them in when I put the grips, satnav and headlamp relay through the bike with the tank up.
Cried off as have my first ROSPA training ride Thursday and group ride Sunday so don’t want to get it apart and have to hurry getting it back together again. I found getting the cowling apart quite fiddly last time so want to take my time.
Just have to bear in mind I’m back to being a SMIDSY target as, touching wood, I haven’t had a car pull out on me since fitting them!

I had to replace one of those, like you I had done too good a job routing the wires. So, I just cut the duff one off and did an inline connection with the new one, soldered and heat shrink  :fix:

I have the Bigpie LED lights and the nearside one now appears to have a weak connection, wiggle the wire and it lights up, let go and it turns off. Needs a strip down and reconnect to fix.

Paul, sorry to hear you are having issues with your lights, but unfortunately it wasn't me that made them. It was possibly Kirky or a similar username.

I once took an old baby car seat strapped to my topbox rack to work for a colleague, that seemed to stop the tailgaters that day.

I wonder what drivers would make of having a "Baby on board" sticker on your top box...? :smirk:

If I'd have had any dolls in the house I would have strapped it rear facing with one in. Tailgaters are my biggest peeve on the road.

Very impressive, I think your brackets deserve their own thread. There is a a man on this very forum who posted his auxiliary fusebox idea on here, he sold so many he was able to pack in his day job and retire.

And he's only 22.

All true.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Thanks for the comments.

I only got the printer at Christmas so need to see how durable the plastic is. They also take about 8 hours each to print so won't be able to retire on the proceeds.

King Orry, It is in need of a good clean  :)
