'Strombone' for Glee
« on: October 19, 2012, 21:39:36 »
Call me crazy, but doesn't this look a lot like a 'Strombone' (or offering similar function to a 'Strombone') only for a Glee?

Does anyone use one of of these?

Unless it provides a 1" RAM ball hitch, then it's no substitute for a Strombone!

I have the SW-Motech mount and it isn't a ball mount. I prefer it because ball mounts make the screen harder to read for me. There is too much movement in the ball mount for my tastes. There is a 1" Ram ball mount for the Glee available from Richland Rick's Adventure Tech. http://www.adventuretech.biz/products_d ... oductID=38 if there isn't a Strombone mount yet.

Thanks LaKraven and Greywolf!

I think coupled with something like this I could have my iPhone mounting solution... hurrah! :) I don't need a ball mount either I don't think as the only adjustability I would want is portrait/landscape (and even that's not essential).

Now I just need them to bring out a version of that hard case for the iPhone 5...

Actually, one follow up question if I may Greywolf?

How does it attach? I'm guessing it just fits under the screen to the same fixing points the screen goes into, but it isn't 100% clear from the pictures...

It uses the same mounting points as the screen and comes with extra well nuts. It can be mounted in the same or different holes from the screen. I like the top holes for the GPS to clear the instruments and the bottom holes for the screen but personal preferences and GPS shape may cause others to do it differently.
