Picked my DL650 AL2 up from the dealer today.
2011 in white, very low miles.
Weather was miserable, rained all the way there on my BMW 650GS and all the way back on the new wee!
Ordered some Oxford OF691 grips as soon as I got home!

Nice mancave ZipcodeUK

Thanks, it's a fairly recent setup... but loving the ability to work on my bikes / projects without the grief of moving half the crap out my garage just to do so.

Graham, both calipers? or just one?
Sometimes brake binding can be due to the front end/front wheel not being fitted together in the right process, have you checked this?
Seen lots of people thinking their forks/discs/ calipers are fooked and all down to incorrect tightening process.
This vid is for dirtbikes, but its the same principle

I thought the same when I had PR4s fitted to my Strom. There was half a lead mine stuck to the rear wheel...

Changed fork oil last weekend and noticed that pads were getting down, so today it was new pads all round as well as good clean of the calipers.

MOT also today, passed of course.

Been rebuilding the bike over the winter. General maintenance and checking everything over.

Today was the first start in months and I have learnt the following:

  • Rear cam cover gasket is a pain to see if it is properly seated. If it isn't properly in place, oil absolutely gushes out, covers the nice clean swing arm and makes quite a puddle on the floor.
  • If the FI light is flashing and the bike will run for about 2 seconds and die, check the fault codes. When it returns -C00 code, dealer mode is less than helpful. To save anyone 2 hours of searching, it will run better if the tilt switch is installed the right way up.

So progress, but I didn't get to sync the throttle bodies as I wanted to do.

Sounds like you've been busy there Mudster. Much better than my simple oil change and fix to a horn connection that I did today.
