Bought the above boot of eBay for 80 quid through fowlers of bristol. Lovely looking wee boot and comfortable,  look a bit like daytona's. Used them a few times but never in heavy rain till yesterday.  Feet were soaked in 20 miles!
Still some available on ebay, don't buy folks.

I don't know if it's just me but I have never...never had a pair of waterproof boots that were just that. Now I don't bother. If it's going to be a rain sodden day with no end it sight I just leave my socks off and get wet feet. Quite pleasant once you get used to it.

I have alpinestars and they are waterproof but sweaty and uncomfortable. Also my wifes daytona's never leak. These looked a nice boot for little money but I guess that old saying holds true here "buy cheap buy twice"

Plus one for Altbergs.I have 2 pairs,one for summer,lightweight lace ups,and a pair of clubmans for winter,these I have had for about 20yrs,I have had them reconditioned at Altberg about 10yrs ago as the soles wore out,I was at the factory buying the summer pair and they asked if I would be interested in having the Clubmans refurbished,they put new soles,linings and Velcro on them.Never had a drop of moisture in either pair,ever.Every winter they both get a good thick layer of leather treatment on them and then only normal cleaning the rest of the time.I know they were expensive at the time but the quality is outstanding in my mind and well worth it.
PS.and they are never sweaty.

After four (4) pairs of new 'waterproof' boots last year I bought the RST Adventure II boots which are waterproof.
Couldn't quite warrant the price of the Altberg ones.

Those Altberg's look good, maybe I should treat myself. What's the sizing like? As I'd be mail ordering is a 9 in an altberg the same as any other size 9?

I'm using Oxford Rainseal overboots in heavy rain, work fine so far, I have to stop anyway and put on my Richa waterproof jacket and trousers so it's not too much trouble,
now I'm looking at Altbergs!! can't beat the forum to get you buying stuff you never knew existed

Frank Thomas Route Boots. Waterproof, comfortable, with thick soles and heels to help short arses like me flat foot the bike. They are a bugger to get on, it's true, but worth the trouble.

Why not follow your wife's lead and invest in Daytonas. I bought a pair of Road Stars 5 yrs ago and they are still like new and have never leaked!!!

 My TCX gore Tex have made it through my  hour long commute in heavy rain more than once without letting in water.

+1 I went to the Armoy road races in Ireland last July and we had a run up to Malin head on the Sunday, we had a 2 hour ride back to the digs in monsoon weather and my TCX goretex never let a drop in

That's Northern Ireland, you went to Ireland to malin head!  My wife needless to say didn't buy her Daytona's, I did. After coughing up nearly 300 quid for them iim still in shock, plus she don't like them, to heavy!  Women!  But I hear what your sayin, maybe treat myself.

I bought a pair of Gaerne touring boots from Superbike shop at Boston. £170 reduced from £240. Very comfortable and despite 6 days of heavy rain in Scotland last June they did not let a drop of water in.
