That looks a big boast from being m/c recovery imho.

It's easy to state their capabilities without guage or competition.

Can you search their status and records as a registered company? Beyond that their satisfaction by clients?

I think it very unlikely that one or two references here will be thorough enough.

Do you have a specific reason to ask what they can do or have done?
So how's it going so far then?

Easy to be the best in the field if, as they say, they're the only one.
That would also mean they're the worst, of course.

I know SOS and knew the manager, who is now retired, he was with them for many years.

Personally I don't know any other private motorcycle recovery that's bigger and if you lived in or around london you would see them but they can cover the whole country.

As we also knew the drivers they would fetch broken down bikes to our shop, I never heard of any complaints from bike owners.

Are they any good ..? Well, for a fee they'll come and collect your bike and take you home, that's all you want isn't it ..?

I'm pretty sure they don't fix bikes at the side of the road , they just recover now.

I've only been picked up by them once as the the AA and RAC, maybe green flag sometimes sub contract out their work to them, they were very quick to collect me.

Thanks for the replies/info.
Somebody local to me has bought a bike from a dealer in Essex and has had a rather salty price quoted for transporting it up to him.
SOS seems to offer the service he needs at at a more reasonabe cost.

Is it not possible for him to get a train or bus down then have the pleasure of riding his new bike home?  :thumb:

About 2001 I was riding on the M25 on my 1200 bandit, in the outside lane when I had a rear flat, I made my way on to the hard shoulder where I found I had picked up a 18mm bolt.
So I Rang my insurance (Carole Nash) as you may know trying to hear on the phone at the side of any road let alone the M25  :dl_smiley_banghead:
When a van pulled up it was S.O.S he let me in to his cab to talk to Carole Nash he took the phone and explained to them that he would take me home or take me to get a new tyre fitted.
He actually took me to Brands hatch racing circuit where on paddock hill bend there is a tyre company, I had a new tyre fitted, and continued on my ride to Boxhill.
I was so grateful to S.O.S that day and very impressed.

Makes a welcome change to hear good things from different quarters about a company.  :thumb:

Spoke to them [SOS] yesterday morning to sound them out a bit more and also to double check something.
Was impressed, very easy to deal with and accomodating which has led to the transfer being booked.
@Doctor 46 the options for collection have been limited a bit by the fact that the bike has a few aftermarket parts fitted and the original oem bits are included in the sale.
Looked at going down in a car and him riding it back but a fuel bill for a combined mileage of over six hundred miles plus the cost of a couple of all day breakfasts ( :) ) would probably end up at about ninty quid.
Yes it would be a bit of a jolly but in reality what with uncertain traffic and particularly at this time of the year uncertain weather and the lack of daylight I think we'd have just ended up chasing  the clock all day to try and get back at a reasonable time.
So as detailed on their website standard charge of £180+vat delivered to him within seven working days and that includes the oem parts boxed up by the dealer ready to accompany the bike.
Proof of the pudding of course will be when it's delivered.

Oh and the other thing that helped to swing it to pay the extra money is that this is the model of bike he's bought.
Wouldn't want to get it all dirty would he...

Ah. They aren't allowed on the road until at least Easter, are they?
