Saying goodbye
« on: October 19, 2023, 19:43:32 »
Hello. As probably few of you read, my bike was stolen and burned to the ground. This really put me off and I think I will give up motorcycles for a while. I am devastated, so much work and heart was put into that motorcycle... All ruined by the bunch of thieves wanting a joyride (which probably didn't even happened as my bike was found 0.7mile from my house). If I ever buy new one it won't be a vstrom unfortunately (to heavy cow). Thank you for all the help I have received from people here. It was a good few years of gaining experience thanks to forum users. I will be popping to the forums from time to time but I won't be an active user anymore. Looks like it is a time to find new hobby.  :ty:

So sad to read this. It is sad when any biker leaves the fold but even worse knowing why you are leaving. Good luck with your new hobby, ballet is said to be good for body and soul and I doubt anybody will want to steal your tutu and shoes  :thumb:

Sad to be reading this Pichulec ☹️
as others have said it is a Horrible reason that you are having to give up your passion for motorcycling, because of a thieving bastard that gave no thought to you when they stole your bike and worst of all set it on fire.

Hope you find a Hobby 🙏🏻 and in time return to motorcycling when you are ready 👍

Hello Piotr, I am sad for what has happened to you and understand your feelings at the moment.
I can only think that it's not been an easy few years where you lost your friend and now having lost your bike after all your efforts.
I would just take a few weeks of getting yourself into a better place and then remember all the many good weeks you had with your bike.
You mustn't let the world change your smile ( I say this having been guilty of it in the past).
Unfortunately your bike is gone, be it as it was or if you were in an accident, etc. - it's what we have insurance for.
I hope that there will be another bike in need of the care and TLC that you give, that will bring your smile back in the coming months.
It's been a pleasure  :thumb:
May your God go with you...

I don't do personal stuff on here but having your bike stolen is not the way it should end.

It's been a pleasure to see your posts on here and I hope you get back on a motorcycle soon, wherever.   :)
So how's it going so far then?

Sorry to see you go in forced circumstances and I hope the bastards get caught.

Keep dropping in for the humour and banter as this forum is more than just Strom News.

I think this site has so much more to offer than just motorcycles. It is very fortunate to contain what I consider one the best blends of miserable, cheerful, cantankerous, helpful people anywhere.

In short what happened to you was proper shit, some mouth breathing shit stain stole your bike, which to all of us is so much more than a conveyance. Gather yourself together, stay in touch for the breakfast reviews and if needs must, put 'bikes on the back-burner.

One thing to bear in mind though is once the biking bug has bitten you, you are infected for life. Every time you hear a Vtwin your head will turn and a warmth shall embrace your soul.  :)
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

I took 7 years off the bikes after an accident told me I didn't love it enough to risk my other hobbies.
Theft is even worse as the accident was my fault entirely.
Waited for the right reasons, the right people and the right bike to come along and I'm fully back into it now.
Take some time away and see if/when you miss it. It probably won't be until at least Spring 2024 ;)

Don't tell everybody but this forum is not actually about motorcycles at all.
Owning or having owned a Vstrom is just used as a filter to try and ensure only people who are not totally up their own arses are let in :)

Gutted for you too, hopefully the bug will keep biting and you'll be back to biking in a while. Don't let the bustards grind you down.

Yes, was so sorry to hear of the loss of your KLV  a well looked after, and a fairly rare bike to boot.
Hope you find a new hobby and a new bike soon, Pichulec. :) :thumb:

Sorry to hear about your bike, and also that you're considering leaving! I don't imagine Fat Rat will mind you hanging around a bit!

If you want a lighter bike... what about a V-Strom 250?!  :auto-dirtbike:
