Dug out my lined winter gear, nearly stayed dry until the heavens opened 300yrds from home.

Pulled the Varadero out, filled the tank in Morrisons and took it for a 40 mile spin.

Sad to say it's the first time the bike has been out of the garage since the August meet.  :bawl:

I did notice the new E10 label on the pump (car is diesel) well the Varadero doesn't like the stuff much. At higher revs and above 40mph it's fine, but around town it's a pig. Back to how it was before I removed the O2 sensor and Pair system.

I notice my tigger is slightly flat feeling on the E10. First time I tried it it was fine but I had half a tank of super in it. Back to the good stuff whenever I can...

Charged the battery on SWMBO's GSX14 last night... filled it with that crap E10 stuff and had a pleasant 50 miles around the local valleys and mountains.

I'd forgot how good a bike it is... went around the outside of a Blackbird on a nice wide corner... he took a double take.  :auto-dirtbike:

I'm glad that 6 years ago (next week) I didn't tell her she couldn't have that massive bike.   :thumb:

Back home, washed the last of the bugs off and put it to bed.

Didn't seem to make any difference with the E10 fuel.

@Brockett, Hesketh?
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Dropped it (again) leaving Wetherby Services.
I was expecting a car to have moved out of MY way, (his right of way), I had a brain stoppage, instead of pulling the clutch, pressing the rear brake (walking pace) I did the next best thing and stopped it with the rear brake with the clutch out with both feet on the pegs. Funny thing happened, the bike stopped and promptly fell on the left hand side.

Luckily for me I had a willing and non-judgemental helper/carer following who did the lions share of lifting.

Cheers Rusty xxx

The left hand engine bar has a couple of scratches, other than that and a sense of shame/stupidity/bewilderment no further damage.

We had some challenging weather over the tops (North Pennines/ Northumberland/Cumbria) and some treacherous road surfaces where the tar had bled through the gravel leaving polished  wet tar. Just under 330 miles for me. :)

Shame I had no camera mounted today. Not for the unscheduled dismount, ( well, maybe a bit) but the spectacular weather differences. 17 degrees, full sun in the valleys, thick fog and low cloud up top,TLPower's bike all but vanished in the murk only a few yards ahead of me. Bacon&sausage butty in Wetherby, Sunday roast at Hemmel Cafe  and double triple choc chocolate cake in Leyburn. I've only just managed to squeeze my evening meal of fish, new spuds and veg down. There's carrot cake for later. Thanks to TL for brilliant route planning. Epic roads and scenery up in North Pennines AONB. Get yourselves up there if you haven't already.

Thank you for the commiserations' chaps, luckily I had a responsible adult with me who kindly didn't mock, he just lifted.

This afternoon as a penance I gave it a quick clean.

To my annoyance I had to take my little Honda to the ULEZ centre in the east end of londonstan today.
I had prove to the pint sized moron Mair of London and TFL that my Honda wasn't a polluter.

I left it a bit late but after a bit of begging I managed to get an appointment to be bent over (dry) and relieved of £150 of my hard earned.

Anyway,  it passed, just . !!

I'm now back home and sore, where's that special cream ..
Chief trouble maker 🙂
