Well done, enjoy your well earned easier lifestyle  :thumb:

Interestingly, my mates son has just joined Northumbria Police and is in full training mode, He's loving it so far but he's yet to see the 'real world' of policing yet...

Thanks for all the kind wishes people.
I'm now a civilian and can't wait to start my new career.... I got a nice leaving present of £180 of Sportsbikeshop vouchers which will be spent wisely.
Looking forward to having regular hours and no cancellation of my days off.

Congrats.

Book into the west Wales meet before you start the new job... it's then a pre existing holiday.

I got out of retail last may... crap hours, most weekend, extra hours when the place was busy for no extra pay and I was a manager.
Now I work for an engineering firm, no weekends, 5pm everyone out. It's great.
Still have to deal with a-holes on the phone, but I get to choose if I answer them.

You'll love the change even if it's a shock to start with.

Good luck with the new job!

Glad to hear it's all worked out in the end. I have mates in the service and I can't say I envy the pressures and issues they face.
Enjoy the change, predictable hours and days off will makes for great riding.

Congratulations on the retirement.  :text-bravo:

To be honest with the latest pension change and now what appears to be a forced retirement at 60, I’m seriously considering the same especially as it doesn’t give me enough time to pay into the new scheme for any return.

Good luck.
I'm retiring in April. I'll keep my C+E licence up just in case ...............
