(God! Was it really in '85!?)
-
The year I was born
!
She does like bikes, but insists she's not getting one till she does her test, should be next year, and gets a VN 900
I may lower the wee for her and I'll get something a bit bigger? (New wee and a bore the engine
.)
only one wet day when we were in Corwall, and we had no food, so I got wet riding to Bodmin's ASDA!
and I did get a little sick of the hills, up and down, up and down. don't think I found a level bit of road all week! but the lanes and tracks were fun, don't think the mrs enjoyed em as much as me.
but as usual fantastic weather in St Davids. Those of you that think Wales is wet and windy all year need to come from over the border and go that bit past Carmarthen and then the sun comes out. Damn it just gave our secret away!
sssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhh, don't tell anyone!
we stayed at Stepps Farm & Cottages, Camelford, Cornwall.
http://www.steppesfarmholidaycottages.co.uk/Camelford was a bit crap, but did have take-ways, that's about it without saying it was a bit s***.
Tintagel, was nice to have a nose in the shops, but has lost its charm, take walking boots and money (lots) if you want to walk down the hill to the castle.
Boscastle was loverly, quaint, and the pubs did great food.
Bude was just like most towns, nice enough, and Newquey was busy. didn't see much of Nequay except the Sea life centre and the Zoo, but they are well worth the visit. Feed the Merkats- Simples!
West Wales was at a secret location, we stay at regular. Near St Davids. can't go wrong anywhere there, I've stayed in many places in the area and I can't say I've stayed somewhere bad.
Places to visit in West Wales- (North section)
Havverfordwest, Solva, St Davids, Whitesands- Beach, Porthgain- eat in the Sloop Inn!, Abereiddy- Pebble Beach and the Blue Lagoon Surf/kyak, Newgale. there's loads, but that's the highlights.
(South Section)
Pembroke Dock, Stackpole Quay, Freshwater East + West, Dale- No rear beach anymorebut, St Anns head is well worth a walk for the view out to sea and straight up the Haven, St Martains haven - steep hill with rocky beach but the shuttle to Skomer from here. Skomer is good to see. got there don't bother with the boat trips around. St brides- little bay, nothing much there but fantastic views, best when tide is half in. (Used to dive there allot- easy simple and loads of life.) Broad Haven & Little Haven- both have beaches but little haven's one disappears at high tide often, little haven is less touristy and the St Brides Inn does great food. Walk up to the point- great view, and from the cliffs on the western hills. Marloes sands is a long, long stretch of beach, facing due west. on access apart front on foot- good 4x4- wouldn't recommend using your bike! DRZ might do it!
I've missed out places like Tenby as I'm not one for the touristy places- I like to see rural areas- Little haven is like a second home to me. (an I know people living there so a night in the pub I can always find someone I know
)
if anyone does fancy going to West Wales, gimme a Pm and I'll have more info, there's also a place to stay near Carmarthen I'd highly recommend - Pant Y Meillion Campsite- find it in the biker friendly Accommodation section-
plug there for you Andy!
