Utterly disgraceful. He told the tourists it would cost £10 a minute. Fair enough but what accent and slang word did he use for it? Ellow ma'e, I's 'arf a sco quids a minu'e.

Wonder if they understood what he said in the first place.

I would expect that to be the going rate. Oxfors St is always choc-a-block with taxis and buses and it would take about 20 minutes for that journey so with the meter running while the taxi is stationary, it would come to about that much.
