'New' bike for me...
« on: June 07, 2014, 09:09:06 »
I've bought a second bike, well the garage was looking a bit empty with just the 'strom & the wife's convertible in it, so I've bought an XJ900F Yamaha for the princely sum of £450 ! It stops (just...) and goes but is a bit tatty, so it'll keep me out of harms way over the winter. If I can muster the enthusiasm I may even take a picture of it, although probably not...

Good old workhorse, shafty. Rear shock will be past it's best, they bounce like a pogo stick, not sure they can be rebuilt.

Massive bargain though, nice work.

I quite fancy taking the fairing off it for a bit of a naked vibe ? Has anyone seen a naked one in the flesh ? It was a model option in the 'states and I've seen a few pictures on the interweb, just a daft thought, like.

Stinking bike the Yamy Divi 900, reliable shaft-drive 4 cylinder. A close biker mate of mine owned one, plenty of torque/grunt and great fuel economy.

Fix it up and ride it............lots, you'll love it.  Enjoy.

I love my XJ900.

Flies along at 'motorway' speeds and handles surprisingly well with modern tyres on the 18" rims. Brakes are actually pretty decent with braided hoses, new pads and fluid.

You should enjoy riding it  :)
