This website allows you to quickly look up the current market value of a bike.

Good luck with that, but you will surely fail..
As vehicles get older these guides no longer represent the real value.

I just had a quick look as a test.

Take this add here
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201710120218980?year-to=2008&radius=1500&minimum-mileage=20000&model=V-STROM%20650&postcode=ta202jl&maximum-mileage=30000&sort=price-asc&year-from=2007&advertising-location=at_bikes&make=Suzuki&page=1

DL650 AK7 GT 645cc 20,798 miles for sale at a dealer asking £3,395 (which seems a little high to me).

According to the guide...
Suzuki DL650 A V-Strom Touring (2006-10) (2008/57)
Retail:   £2,400
Private Good:   £1,990
Private Average:   £1,600
Private Poor:   £930
Part Exchange:   £1,850
Trade:   £1,634

Now by my reckoning that bike would sell privately for around £2,800.
Am I wrong?

There seem to be a lot of pre reg 2017 (and a couple of 2016 models) for sale at the moment. Some of the dealers are keen to shift them. I got very lucky with a 2017 DL650 for 5,500 with 19 miles on the clock.

nopey,,,  It was a link to a site that let you type your make and year in and get trade in ,, dealer ,, and private sale prices .. like the glass guide

That Link doesn't seem to work anymore!  :icon_no:

Not sure how accurate these prices are but may be of some use?

Was there a Tyrannosaurus Rex lying next this thread?

No pterodactyls,  certainly, because beaks hadn't evolved when this started.

Gleek is correct!  :thumb:

There is nothing correct about a Gleek, in my humble opinion, it is the most ridiculous looking bike ever (and I am including KTMs).  It is where it all started to go horribly wrong where the LSD taking bike designers started adding beaks to anything that stood still long enough  :bawl:

Enjoy your new bike  :smirk:
