V-Strom gets a new brother!
« on: January 05, 2021, 20:20:02 »
Kawasaki ZZR1400 coming on Tuesday. Not an ideal time for a new bike but they have been discontinued and fancied a roomy sportsbike soooo thought I'd snap up one of the only new ones left. Had 2 Hayabusas before so the power shouldn't be an issue. For the moment I will have to be content taking it for 'essential' shopping trips. Probably still ride the DL more as it is my poor weather bike which in Wales is nearly always  lol. Harley goes in part ex.

True...although 0-60 in 2.6 seconds is legal even in the UK.  :icon_wink:

Yesterday I did an oil change and an MOT on a 2012 model.
In 3 years the owner had done less that 100 miles and last year just 17miles ..  :smirk:

Owned since new , Total miles since 2012 ...... 2200m  :dl_smiley_banghead:

Brilliant bikes! I've never owned one but have ridden them a few times. An engine that just never stops pulling - made my Fireblades 175bhp seem weedy :). Enjoy!!

Lucky you, nice bike.
One of the mechanic's I used had a blue one, loved the power but like Kwackboy said, the physical size was a bit too much on certain roads, so steady as she goes  :thumb:
May your God go with you...

Sometimes I wonder if smaller bikes are just as dangerous as  powerful ones. On the 650 occasionally I think an overtake was a bad idea when I'm in the middle.... On the Busa I used to get round 3 cars instead of 1  :). But I agree, the right hand needs discipline on the Big Z. I think the V-Strom is still the bike I've had most fun on - it's so chuckable.  :auto-dirtbike:

Have you managed to get out on the ZZR yet Mr Blues? Not the best weather for nigh on 200bhp but the temptation must be there  :lala:

Yep Sim, went to Argos C&C today (that was lucky! :) and the roads were dry too. Had a little burn on the way back. Not supersport nimble but shall we say you look down to see if you are over 30 only to find it's 50  Surprisingly agile for a big bike. Got to stick to 4k revs for 250 miles  :angry-banghead: Managed to get up on the paddock stand when I got home - no probs. Exhausts are pretty quiet but I like the look - suits the bike. Might take the Black Widows off the DL and return to stock then there won't be too much to compare. Brakes were a bit better on the Harley but the Z is going to be better handling and quicker than the Busa. Time will tell!
