Top box plate question
« on: November 19, 2019, 13:36:32 »
So, first question on here. Wish me luck.
Got the new V1000 on Friday. I started doing my usual - ACF50 and checking/greasing all the bolts etc. The dealer had somehow mounted the screen with rthe ight and left sides at different heights! Great!. That was easily remedied.

I also pulled the Suzuki aluminium luggage off to get to the rack parts and noticed the plate mount for the top box seemed a bit odd. There's a metal plate that looks like it fits against the silver plastic for reinforcement, but the 2 shaped spacers don't really retain it? the smaller diameter sits through the metal plate and through the plastic rack and contacts the threaded rack support underneath the plastic part but it then leaves a gap so the metal plate could move up and down.

I ended up adding 2 old rubber grommets in the gap for now.

Does anyone have the same setup to compare what you have? Am I missing a part (spacer maybe?) or is this just fitted wrong?
Cheers.

Anyone got similar? Or even a copy of the install sheet / parts list for that model Suzuki top plate? I can't find the parts list or instructions online anywhere. No rush for now, it's solid enough.

On the Dropbox share link, change the dl=0 on the end to raw=1 and the forum displays them happily.
