Just had new discs fitted and was speaking to the shop regarding the 7.5 k service which will be due in around 1000 miles. Apparently the plugs should be changed at that interval at 22 quid each x 4! 7.5k doesn't seem much of a life for these plugs especially in such an understressed engine. My audi has similar plugs and I believe they are changed some time in the region of 25k.
Any thoughts on not changing the plugs?

Your plugs will last over 4 times that mileage , tell the shop to leave them be and just do the service without changing them .

Was hoping that's what would come back. 7.5 for plugs is pitiful in my opinion. Should save me 88 quid plus a decent bit of labour removing all the panels to get to the poxy things!

I left mine to 15k, they where all OK apart from the front cylinder centre plug which had rusted up as water was getting passed the cap. But the working parts where good.
I thought Suzuki had changed this on there dealer service schedule to 15k now. It was 7.5k in the 14 model years manual.
 If Iwas ever to buy another Veek I'd not do anything till 20k but oil and filter

I have 26,000 miles on my original plugs and the bike still runs beautifully. I guess if I was in the UK with your weather conditions it might be wise to at least remove them and put the them back every couple of years, in case corrosion is an issue.

The plugs are now available aftermarket. If you hunt round you can get them for £7 each. At my 15000 mile service the dealers just checked them and put them back in.

Just had mine done at 7500. I asked the dealer to give me the old plugs back (I gave him the new plugs as I got them cheap). I stood in the shop and held one up and said, "nothing wrong with these, why does Suzuki insist they get changed?". Dealer agreed they were fine, said he just follows what's in the service book (fair enough).

Bottom line is these iridium plugs should be good for waaaaay longer, so don't feel bad about not changing them every 7500.
