Went for a little bimble after work with my mate. It has rained most of the day here. But the sun came out and dried the roads so we decided we would go out.  We got caught in a few showers but still had a good ride. We visited this church in matching green close to Stansted airport.

That's been a church a long time  :thumb:

I'm strangely attracted to church architecture and the like. When you think back to what else was there when they were built and what an effort it must have been. You can't help but be impressed.

2112   I also like the architecture of churches it amazes me how they were built and I agree you can’t help to be impressed.
A lot of my bike pictures are with either churches or Windmills and I have started to do some drone flying around local churches recently.

I have been doing a few hours extra at work, due to the pallet network that we use going bust. So we have found another network to do our odd pallets ( full loads go direct ) any how the jobs were all picked and the shunts were all done. So my boss said you have been staying late quite a bit ( they do not pay overtime) so why don’t you go early the sun is out and go out on your bike.
Well I didn’t need telling twice 🤣.
So I had went out for a couple of hours around some lovely B roads and A few A roads, stopping off at The museum of power in Langford near Maldon in Essex for a picture or 2. Riding though some of the villages the kids were getting off of the school buses and they were gesturing with there hands to rev the Engine 🤣🤣 which I duly did as the Harley sounds great on the overrun 🤣
In the pictures you will see a Heron which I thought it was one of the plastic ones until it flew off ( second picture it has gone )

Finally got round to sorting out the XJ's clutch today.  I had already put the new plates in an oilbath on Monday. Also As advised by Mr Diver I replacedthe clutch release bearing. All buttoned up with a new oil filter and   2.6 litres of 10/40 and ready for a road test. Rolled out of the garage and fired it up. petrol spurting out. On one hand why now?? and on the other it could have ruptured on my next ride out. So seat off tank off and oh! dear a split in the fuel line. see photo.  Another hour lost as I rummage around for some fuel line and a couple of clips ( because the OD of the replacement line is a bit wider.  All done and test ridden 10 miles round the block. But then, as I got off the bike, the revs went up to 2500rpm. I set the bike upright and the revs dropped to normal. When I lean it over just a little,  the revs rise. I am thinking there is a maladjusted float.  Oh! well a job for another day.   Yesterday was a nice day so I went fishing and landed eight nice carp.

Quick repair on the missus' GS today. The spring steel lever arm on the rear brake light switch had parted ways (see crap design rant in moaning old git thread) and it's a big tear down job to replace the switch unit as it's riveted in from behind.
Bought a new switch and just swapped the lever over. The lever isn't really thick enough to stand pushing over the tabs so actually arrives quite loose from the factory, a quick squeeze with the pliers and it's a much better fit. Let's hope this one hangs around a bit longer whilst I source spare switches from not BMW.

Took the Stone for a run out to Grumpys and to meet a friend for a nice breakfast (no I didn't eat him and no pictures were taken of the bits of dead animals that were served up)  and then on to Oulton Broad for a coffee at the Quay cafe. 159 miles in a cool Suffolk breeze.
