AI taking control?…..

<< < (3/4) > >>

Phild:
I’m past it all now Brockett. I’m sticking with Upt North’s idea of single malt.👍

nigel s:
Deepseek, the recently released  Chinese AI is open source, so anyone can download it and run it on a machine powerful enough, £6000ish for the machine I heard . There may well be problems if bad actors ( no ..not Charlie Sheen ) get hold of it. Anyone with £6000 can now do Government level hacking/ deep fakes.
I also heard about some computer blokes at Cambridge Uni that have taught AI to replicate and defend itself from deletion  , they gave it access to Chat gpt and let it loose. It learnt to get around all they could do to stop it...Fortunately it was just a simulation .This time

I was quite looking forward to the "quiet war " ( for Iain M Banks readers ) when the benevolent machines take over, not so sure now

Ho Hum

The Doctor 46:
Our government say they want us to be leaders in the future AI market, they also say that they want to get more people off the dole. I would suggest that they can't have it both ways.  :groan:

Phild:
Sticking with the single malt idea ……….It’s more palatable.😁

Ianmc:
Mmm……AI machines, there is an easy way around them taking over, they all have an on/off switch…..🤓
