Gifted meself some Givi pannier frames. Now have the luxury of either these ickle boxes or some adapted Pelicases. Or I could just sling on a set of throw-overs onto the old girl  :lala:

And so I come to the end of my oily rag restoration of the old 600 Alp, by finishing the DIY sump guard that I promised myself . . .

Now it's time to strip down and service youngest sons Wee Strom

Cheers chaps.

I knocked one up for youngest sons wee strom a year or so ago and it has worked fine. In fact, just this afternoon I've taken it off his bike to give it a fresh coat of paint and to allow access to the sump plug & oil filter. I'll take a photo of it and post that up, if anyones interested.

Not my bestest work (you should have seen the 1st attempt - nowt more than a skid plate ), but it does a grand job of keeping hard stuff from hitting the sump, oil cooler and exhaust lower section. Attached to the bottom of the engine via a couple of DIY brackets and a big bit of threaded bar through a mounting point on the bottom of the sump.

I see now how you could be so easily confused . . . . . but my set up is by far more profesional

I've adapted soe peli cases (see photos attached) and have used them on at least 3 other bikes.
