Have you perhaps had a look at a spares listing to see whether you can see the order of the parts disassembled? Typical listing https://www.Suzuki-motorrad-ersatzteile.de/d2p/d2p?ALIAS=25206&CLIENT=LAUX&LANGUAGE=EN&BRAND=Suzuki&NAVGROUP=S_RGV&MACHINE=2273. To narrow down a bit, https://www.Suzuki-motorrad-ersatzteile.de/d2p/d2p?ALIAS=25213&TIM=4523&BRAND=Suzuki&MACHINE=2659&NAVGROUP=S_DL250&PNO=068.P2TSUZUKI195520102. You may have to use browser to translate the language.

Hi from another Kent biker.

Looks like allen-head bolts for which you will need a set of allen keys, maybe s set of small combination spanners if there's nuts on the end of the bolts.

Out of interest, what part of Kent are you in, in the event I am round the corner?  :icon_wink:
May your God go with you...

What's confusing the issue is there's those annoying plastic covers in the bolt heads.

Trying to be helpful here, they aren't covers over bolt heads, simply rest points for the topbox....I think.

If it's like the 650 the Suzuki plate allen bolts hold the rear handles too. The Givi plate is bolted down on a Givi base plate with the same bolts. The plastic adapter plate, seen in the photo, is held down with new bolts and square washers in the honeycomb grid.

Sorry if this is confusing. Do you have the mounting info ak007?
So how's it going so far then?

Listing says cover & there's no meat to them to rest anything on: these have a single bolt that mounts the carrier to the bike so not much use as a rest, but I see where you're coming from. I hate these things as they never really survive picking them out that well & generally look crap if you try to re-use them.

The plastic cover is there to keep the steelton cheese of the bolt heads fresh and soft.....

Looks like the link that I posted needs to be logged into, so I googled a DL250 parts listing and came across this link that may be of help to anyone with an L8:

Hello ak007, and  :welcome2:.
I too am a DL250 owner. I see you want to remove the Suzuki rack?
My advice is don't it will cause to many other problems, I'm not sure what toxbox plate you're using, is it a GiVi or Shad?.
I have a GiVi mounted to mine, with an alloy flat plate I made up, see enclosed photo, if you would like further help then please get in touch with me and I will talk you through it.
