Which screen(s) will fit this fairing? Help!
« on: April 06, 2022, 21:38:28 »
Hopefully this pic will appear!

The 1 on the right is my original (its damaged) The screen was really scuffed and cloudy.
I purchased the 1 on the left which will fit on my bike but my screen won't fit to it!
I was going to polish it and put it on but can't.

Which brands/models will fit the 1 on the left?

Its a DL1000 K2
Thanks...

Any 1000cc screen K4-8 or 650cc K4-L1, same screen and screen mount, though the fairings were different.
K1-3 1000 had screens mounted directly to the fairing.

The two nose cones you have are from different generation 1000cc bikes. The rest of the fairing and clocks are different and the two nose cones are not interchangeable.

The one on the left looks like mine, DL1000 K6, your original on the left looks like it must have a different mounting for the screen.

So, to be clear Muff Diver
The new nose cone I have bought (left) won't fit on my K2 DL1000 ?
I can't check it on the bike because the front fairing/headlight bracket, sub frame and stands are at the powder coaters.
I understand my original screen won't fit the new nose cone because the way its attached.

The top image is a K2-3 bike. The lower one is K4 onwards. (Actually it's a 650, but the same design, 1000cc had chrome rings around the clocks)

The seller has got it wrong.
I'm not sure if the support frame differed, but the textured black surround, clocks and side panels, screens all varied.

Someone did botch a later fairing onto his K2 a while back, but it took a lot of work and still didn't look like a factory finish.
I think he did it to get the later model screen options and more modern dash.

Stick the new one back on ebay, it's not likely you'll get sence out of the seller to get your money back.

Wow!
Thanks for the detailed explanation..
Very helpfully, and saved me money buying a screen for a nose cone that's not going to fit..
I'll take mine to the body shop to see if it will be cost effective to get it repaired..
I will be contacting the seller for a refund..
Thanks for the time and effort...

Started a returns process yesterday, they sent a link to print a postage label today. Money back 3 days after they receive it.
So not lost any money just the faffing about..
No decent ones available for mine...
Thanks again Muff...
