MOT passed today with flying colours, I thought it would but its always a slight worry when you buy a bike with no MOT, it was also my longest ride on it so far...a whole 24 miles. Looking forward to the first of the month so I can tax it and get it on the road porper  :auto-dirtbike:

Turned 30k miles on my Veek yesterday, small potato's to some but a bit of a milestone for me. I've not kept a bike this long from when I was an apprentice  in the early 80's.
Nothing much has went wrong, I had the new ECU in late 2015 and its it's not been to the dealer's since then. Going to need a good service now but I can't  complain with once every  5 years or 30k!

My new to me 06 Wee had its maiden voyage, and it was almost a voyage with all the rain last night. Changed the screen to a Givi Airflow from a Versys with some after market Versys brackets, have had this setup on three bikes now, a great bit of kit imho.

Fitted a set of Renthals and Barkbusters I had laying around, had a run out to Freshwater West for a test. The BB's seem to offer better weather protection than the stock hand guards.

Beautiful pictures. :)

Our local water is brown and unwanted.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Sage, what part of God's own land is in your pictures.

Looks familiar, but I just can't be sure.

Home made front mudguard extender, shop ones are about 80mms after fixing and still chuck crud all over the pipes and filter.
Piece of old water tank, blow lamp to shape and voila.......140mms crud guard, ugly as fcuk but working well😏

Quote removed

It's West Wales, Pembrokeshire. Freshwater West is just below the Milford Haven estuary. Now the grockles have gone it's even quieter on the roads.

Not today but yesterday... I had the new Strom serviced at 7500 miles with the only one I would trust my bike with (Kwackboy) ... Burwins @North London .. Rocked up just after 8am ... left at 1pm ...  it that it was not a long job .... just coffee ... banter .... coffee ... dodgy videos supplied by the boss ... The one thing with Burwins is they always go the extra mile for the customer (even the difficult customer on a Chinese Moped).
Still ... service done and Heated grips fitted.

Thanks Kwackboy... always a pleasure and I will repay the work as discussed  :thumb:

All I have done today is wash my V-Strom !!! Not much I know, but it was the first wash its had in a little over 6000kms....I left the UK at the end of September and returned towards the later part of October.  Essentially I caught the ferry to Santander turned right on arrival in Spain then kept going until l came all the way back around the coast/french boarder picking up the ferry in Bilbao.
Route included, All of the Portuguese coast, Gibraltar and all of the Spanish coast, various mountains, quite a bit off road (dirt/fire type tracks maybe 150KMS - f...hard work when its hot and all the luggage is full).   Much to my amazement I never dropped it... though
close a few times -- whew...
But most impressive of all not a single thing broke, came loose or dropped off and beyond cleaning chain and checking oil etc I had to do nothing to the bike beyond adding fuel.   This included the off road parts and where the temperature was 34+.
Which is more than can be said for the many BMW's GS's I met on the way who regularly seemed to have issues.  Though to be fair I must have met 100+ GS riders. Sadly I never met another single Vstrom rider unless Spanish locals and on older 1000/650 models.
Ps my bike was standard.

So hats off to:
- Suzuki - for amazing reliability
- Booking.com - for always finding me digs within 25kms of wherever I was and under 25 euros :)
- what's app - if only to read the comments my mates made as a middle aged fat bloke rode around Spain on his own-- you merciless pis.. taking gits...
- Google maps - trust me works even up mountains!!!
and finally Tapas as I don't speak Spanish and tapas works on a pointed finger level :)
Will try and upload some pictures if interested.

Bar risers with forward movement, A) to ease my back and B) to create a tad more room for pillion.
50mm up and forward.
No pipework, cables or wiring were endangered in the making of this picture 😉
