Hmm tough call, like I said in a previous post, I''d be okay with the tall screen in the middle position (6'4"). Each position seems to move the screen a couple of inches, so I think someone around 6' may be happy with the tall screen in the lowest position, although we're all different shapes and some people slouch more than others. So I'd guess that the 16" MRA might be one to go for. The show stopper with the tall screen is if it blocks your line of sight - too tall would probably be fine in terms of aerodynamics (you'd still be in still air) but if you can't get the screen below you're line of sight it may drive you crazy. But like you say you really need someone closer in height to give you a definitive answer. The Apologies for the convoluted/unhelpful answer!

We should keep a list of heights, helmets and which screens work as a reference :-)

For now though, I'm looking for someone that's 5'11, weighs around 12 stone and has a standard Wee seat and a MRA screen: which height screen works for you? (If you have a Shark Titan RSI helmet, bonus.)

The reason I have the weight in there is because I think someone with a larger build will sit higher in the seat than I do.

Do you have the 16 or the 20 inch version?

I'm 6'5" and thinking about the larger screen.

I did order the tall screen and it was delivered on Thursday. I fit it and went for a quick 15 min ride and there was a definite improvement. I rode to work on Friday without earplugs and things were lovely compared to the stock screen.

Only problem I have with mine is it makes me ride faster

After a couple of months of use, it's definately the best accessory I've fitted to a bike. But this is partly due to the fact that the original screen is terrible. Why Suzuki is still fitting the original screen to new bikes, is a mystery.

Many thanks for this review.  The buffeting on my new 650X was appalling and so I've invested in an MRA Vario touring screen from HPS (great place to buy from). Fitted last night and rode into London this morning - I thought you blokes may've been exaggerating the effects a little but you're not kidding, it really is like a different bike. I got the tall screen and it's in the third highest position on the stock mount. I think I will lower it a bit as it's a bit in my line of vision (and really doesn't help filtering as it's like seeing cars' wing mirrors through a lens!).  I also found I could get half way out the seat at speed and the airflow was still going over the top of me.

Brilliant recommendation and great screen.

Did a deal with Wishbone and bought his MRA screen off him as he's defected to the dark side (er eerm bm  ).
Took a ride out to Sheffield yesterday to wishbones place to pick up said screen.
Almost got straight there after a brief look at a map, only one street away, result :thumb: .
Anyway was really looking forward to getting the screen after 18 mths of blurred vision and the comments re the MRA on here.
Wishbone and Mrs Wishbone, great couple, and a really nice bm though I hate to say it.
After 1 1/2hrs ride mrs drac and I were ready for a smoke and a drink (just the drink for mrs), Mrs wishbone supplied the drinks  :ty: , time for the smoke... no light so off I popped to the newsagents.
Came back to find Wishbone had almost finished the fitting of new screen, what a bloke, was even making makeshift washers as mine appeared to be missing  .
Ride home was a revelation, 60 miles with helmet visor up at speeds of upto and a little over 100mph!!!
The wee does have an engine sound afterall and my caberg trip helmet appears to be 80% less noisy!
The difference is absolutely amazing.
Only down side was there was not quite enough breeze on the hottest day of the year! (lower the top screeny bit a little).
Get one if you haven't already... Seriously!

I'm 6'2", Think its the taller 20" screen, on highest setting, on original mounts.
tremendous difference. just raise or lower the the mini screen on the top front to alter the air flow around the face, much needed in this heat wave.

6'2" here too with the taller screen on original mounts top setting with a couple of nuts spacing the bottom of bracket out, working lovely so far, a big improvment on standard :)

Hi, I'm new to this site but have taken loads of tips from it over the past months so it's payback time . I own a 2008 DL1000, had it from new, and toured with it and been battered by wind on it (a lot more than my previous bike a W reg TL 1000 R which I owned and loved for eight years). I am 6'5" and have tried living with the stock screen, which looks OK, but it's a waste of space.
So today, on  your numerous recommendations, I ordered the 20" vario touring. Should be here tomorrow and I will keep you informed on the result...here's hoping. Cheers
It's all good

Eventually took the plunge, ordered and fitted  the extended MRA to  my 650X, replacing the sports screen.

I'm 5'8" in old money, bike is stock seat and suspension, with Madstad.
Spent first couple miles on testing the MRA with a slight sweat on, feeling uneasy, glancing in the mirrors, down at the engine, fiddling with visor - something was not quite right on the bike  - eventually realised it was simply a lack of the demon buffeting and assorted varieties of turbulence I was used to on the wee! The helmet noise (Schuberth C3) was much reduced, also. The mrs reported a vast improvement from the pillion perspective, too. Autocom became even clearer.

It was a warm day and it grew hot behind the screen (minor whine!), but more significantly I found that I was looking through the screen too much, which is bad, it upsets my judgement when approching bends and cornering and so I need some more tweaking with angles, height etc. Currently have Madstad at lowest setting (looks better, too) and will try that today.

Summary: at my height the 20" MRA vario makes a huge improvement to airflow. Downside is looking through screen at higher settings. I suspect that lowering the screen will solve this, but keep improvements to airflow...testing today!
