Going through some old photos, which my mum was about to bin, I discovered this one. The bloke in the photo is my great uncle, but I have no idea what the bike is, probably taken in the early sixties. Just look at his gear though !!

more like early fifties. But it's one to keep in the family history box.

My Dad - 1926, Blackpool photo booth. He would have been about 15 at the time. Rode bikes all his life, riding to work in all weathers until he retired.

Its amazing looking at old pictures you still had a range of people wearing nothing through to full gear of the time!
My dad still uses his gloves from the 70s... and still has his helmet too.

I love the stand attached to the front wheel in froglodyts picture of his dad . :auto-dirtbike:

Scary safety standards back in those days, but at least he is wearing something.

A front stand was very useful when you wanted to remove your front wheel.

I have my dad to thank for my love of bikes (and Land Rovers) a couple of pics of his Ariel (don't know which model), loving the highly polished sidecar.
