I took out an NT1100 DCT today for a couple of hours. Got to say straight away that DCT is not for me. I'm a bit of a Luddite, and there is nothing wrong with my left hand or left foot that prevents me from changing gears. And I like to be in control. The first couple of hundreds yards between the dealer and traffic lights were done pretty well at 30 in 6th gear with plenty of judder. Changed it into a different mode and things improved. But it seems like unnecessary complication.
But the rest of the bike really suited me. The weight is held low so it felt no heavier than my 650 Strom pushing it around or on the road. Really flickable. On the motorway it got to naughty speeds in a blink with plenty in reserve for overtakes. Fitted my 6 foot 3 frame comfortably. Quality bit of kit.
Offered a decent part-ex too. Tempted.

How did you find the screen on the NT ? It looks really useful I was wondering if it actually was.

I rode through a cloudburst on the motorway and stayed dry - even my legs. But at 6 foot 3 my head was in clean air and not protected by the screen at all. It was on its highest setting. But that was fine - no buffeting.
If I order now the earliest I can expect a manual is October and for a DCT November. Dealers can't get enough of them.

Go for it. There a very nice bike, comfortable for sure.
I had a quick ride on a DCT. Like you I found the standard set up changed gear to quickly and I couldn't figure out the other modes so rode it in manual.  I wanted the DCT because of bad wrists. If you can manage the normal bike all the better. I thought the screen was good but I'd like to be able to move it up or down on the go like the Givi air on my bike, maybe the aftermarket will come up with something.
I got offered  a bum trade in deal so the Veek stays!

Deal done. Deposit paid. Long wait until November.
Dealers want my bike straight away to sell it. I persuaded them to let me keep it for a couple of weeks.

Enjoy the new bike when it arrives, and don't forget to post some pictures.

(Must be a strong market for secondhand bikes if they wanted yours now and not on new bike day)

Nice one, enjoy the new toy when it arrives  :thumb:
I got my tigger in November and managed a couple of salt free rides before it got locked away for the winter. The way the climates going you'll probably be OK until mid January...
