Post by: ryry1987 on March 23, 2018, 01:20:58
I have a scorpion end can on my 2013 v strom 650 and I just purchased the new 2018 v strom 650. will the exhaust fit or should I buy a year specific one

The Scorpion site only shows 'Suzuki DL650 V Strom 12-16'.  I would have thought it unlikely to fit.  Others may know better.

Also, I'm looking for a replacement for my original on my 2012.  So, if you decide to sell the Scorpion, please pm me a price.

2017 onwards just requires a single slip on. With maybe a small link pipe.
Earlier models require a fair bit of pipe work.

Unnecessary quote removed

If that's the case you might get away with giving scorpion a call to purchase just the link pipe, they are quite a good company to deal with.

I wonder how the Scorpion compares to Fuel or Delkevic etc, lighter/better sound,
I tried Delkevic before and didn't like it, too loud for my liking despite changing baffles etc.
looking on ebay £429 for the carbon scorpion, looks the dogs though.
a gain of around 2hp and less weight too. stock exhaust is OK but I just wish I could hear the v twin a bit better without being ridiculous.
I think a link pipe should let you re-use the exhaust you have though you may need a different bracket too.

thanks blokes
and vstroman the scorpion sounds amazing on the strom with the baffle out its quite loud but with it in its just the right sound in my opinion. loud enough to be heard but not offensively loud

You will get a better price from Scorpion if you quote your a forum member and that will be made in Britain unlike the Chinese Delkevic.
