If there was one thing the trip to Skeg Vagas taught me it was that I should have dropped the forks 10mm when I fitted the lowering links to the rear suspension. I was asked if I had done it and on saying "no" I was asked if "the bike ran wide on corners". Well it didn't on the run up on the "big" roads but oooooh! it didn't want to turn on some of those tight little bends around Wragby. So that was a little job I did today. I also took the Harley to North Weald air field for big biker meet. Weather was great and I have a slightly sun burnt face (ginger genes!).

You may well mock Andy, I kid you not the sun did shine.

I think Brockett turned into a bronzed Adonis yesterday when he went out on his ditchpump....

First 2-up test run on the NC. The seat got a "better than the Guzzi" rating, the ability to carry the hand bag in the helmet locker was popular and discussion of back rests has secured permision to look at racks and top boxes.

Stripped the forks off the the Varadero and changed the fork oil. Cleaned up the front calipers and autosol on the chrome stanchions.
It's made a noticeable difference in the corners as she's more sure footed and less bouncy.

Tonight Jen will be going pillion on her bike for the first time... she wants to see what it's like to be a passenger as she wants to take her mum on the back.

Been out for a spin and shopping for bike trousers for SWMBO.
Get back to the garage and Marauding Princess decided she's not content with just being able to ride the GSX14, she takes a pew on my Varadero and discovers she can reach the floor and get it off the side stand.

Finished my Forest Gump leg brace variable screen. I tried it last week, it's nearly there.

Thank you, but as they say, it's the journey not the destination, there were tools and bits of aluminum flying all over, it's the first time I've used a lathe since school, though I have done a lot of wood turning which helps with the principals. :)

Service and MOT plus a pair of PR4 Trails. Claimed the £25 cashback they have on at the moment. Every little helps.

Cleaned the K&N, this chap and his suicidal mates took on the might of the Navigator induction system. I last cleaned the filter in March

Body parts and torso's. The dots are heads with eyes.

The 'bike is now running, I just need to order a decent relay before it's fully reassembled.

Nice one, TL. Besides the relay, how much remedial wiring?

I cut out the toasted connectors on the regulator wiring. I checked the charging, 13.8v at 2k rpm so it seems to working OK. I suspect the connectors had a bit of corrosion causing the heat build up.

I've never known a relay to have a dead short before, but swapping it back gave continuity to earth from the fuse out point. I also found a signal wire from a coil had rubbed through.

Bad Nail, bad.
