I don't know if anyone can help with this, but here goes:
Got home today, switched bike off to open garage, attempted to turn her over and she wouldn't start, display went to FI mode, searched around for a pin to bridge the connection to try and find fault code, but before I could do it the battery has gone totally FLAT
Q. How much chance is there that this is the problem, Dead battery :angry-tappingfoot:
My bike is a DL1000
2008 model
in constant use, all weathers..... to that end I'm trying to get back on the road as soon as possible because I hate cycling to and from Portsmouth at silly oclock :bawl:
Can anyone help?

can t help with the cause but have just had similar problems with battery and strange fI mode after trying to restart the bike after a few mins. I have just fitted a new gel battery today, so hope that has solved it. mine is also a 2008 vee

A bad battery can cause FI codes because many are generated due to the voltage at some sensors being out of range. Low voltage at some places will generate an FI.

5 years is about the life of a regularly used battery I reckon.

Thanks All, looks like I'm going for the battery option. :groan:
