at 1920 last night the electricity went off and back on after four minutes or so. The central boiler got into a sulk over this and decided it needed a good holiday just like the one it had over 14 days either side of Christmas. Error code H02 alternating with 04. The'book shows this to be an "out of parameter" fault and requires C1/C2 to be reset. However nowhere in the book does it show the location of C1/C2 nor how these can be reset.  I have just spoken to the plumber and he said he doesn't know anything about C1/C2 either but he'll be round on Tuesday ( I can't do Monday as I've booked an MOT for the VX and the tester is er.... a few miles away  :shy:   ### ### ### ### ### ### right then, that's off my chest.

Sounds like a job for the reset button, Brockett.

I’m no expert but, If it’s a Baxi Boiler, the error code is a temporary fault code relating to the circuit board setup.  Try 1.  Turning boiler off for couple of minutes and back on, see if it resets.  2. If there is a reset button, press that to see if it clears. Oh and keep your fingers crossed whilst you do it!!!

Cue the signature tune to the "Lone Ranger" and YouTube to the rescue. I entered "Baxi 400 error code C1/C2"  and first video post shows how to fix it. No words and it looks East European in origin but it works and I am  :sunny: and
Yes you'd think presing the reset button would do it.... but no. That's far too simple and as I mentioned before there is no such information in the user manual or the installer manual.

Friday in work we got told our store is closing.
Nothing to do with profitability or trading conditions just the lease is up and the landlords want too much money to renew.

The kicker is we are one of the most consistent performers along with being the best presented and run store in the area. Area manager said this a couple of days before closure was announced.

We've been the ones going out and sorting the local shithole store and whipping the staff there into some sort of shape yet we are the ones being handed our P45's.

Money grubbing landlords...
I can see a more than a few retail landlords defaulting on loans in the coming months...
When I worked at the Beeb our department got a supposedly prestigious HR 'Investors in People' award. The very next week we all got our redundancy notices...
The pitifully small redundancy package included some money for retraining. I did the IAM course out of it.

That's shite news Mr Diver, very sorry to hear it and I hope you find something suitable soon. I think that a lot of landlords will be desperately trying to up the rent as much as possible to offset the loss of rent from closed business etc. A local (Newcastle) company has decided to hand it's office back when the lease expires on April the 1st and they will continue to work from home, possibly never going back to a fulltime office. Been a tumultuous year this.
It's pronounced 'twenty-one-twelve'

It's an interesting situation for the rent.
The building is too big for the company that rents it from the land lords, so half the building is sublet to us.
Our lease is with this other company not the landlords.
They have been in financial trouble for years and see it as a way to increase their income by demanding more rent from us in a new sub let lease agreement.
They will no doubt be closing as no-one else will rent this half a building. But then again I don't give a feck about the other company.

Will there be transfers to other outlets or is it P45 time for everybody? Bloody awful luck if it is.

That's the brown end of rhe stick, for sure, Diver. Shame your company couldn't have cut out the middleman and negotiated rent directly with the landlords.
Good luck with job hunting. A crappy time to be doing that, but I'm sure it won't take you long.

It's mad as you know this stuff is happening all over but it only really hits home when it is one of our own.

Gutted for you Diver but as Rusty has said, I have a feeling you will be snapped by one of the other local places.

One of the blokes is taking a part time position in a store just as local to his house.
Our part timer doesn't drive so she's stuffed.

Me and the manager could transfer if there was a position... not many people are likely to quit atm and everyone is on best behaviour to not get sacked.

We've been told we'll be closed by end of July. So there is time yet for someone to go, but the hunt for a new job has began, I'm not waiting around for the crap redundancy offer as I've only been back there 3 years.

At the end of the day I've wanted out of retail for years, this gives me the shove to do it.

SO, I put a note about me possibly getting out on the bike, for it to turn into a heated discussion about people's views on others going out on their bikes atm...
Me thinks people need to explain themselves better in the current climate, as well as giving each other the benefit...
