DL650 04-16 Heed Crash Bars & Skid Plate
« on: September 19, 2023, 11:28:02 »
I’m selling my Heed crash bars and matching skid plate with all fixings included for £100.

I dropped the bike a few weeks ago and the bars worked perfectly, no damage to the expensive plastic panels. The right-hand bar has been touched up (see photos), looks fine but reflected in the sale price.

I’m reducing the weight of the bike as I don’t need such substantial off-road protection for the commuting I’m now doing. Both the bars and skid plate are powder coated steel.

I can post using DPD (from Monday 25th September as I’m currently travelling), or buyer can collect from Penrith, Cumbria. Postage if required is £15.

Any questions please just ask, will list on eBay soon as well. Thanks.

Good buy for someone but seems strange to sell them soon after they have proved their worth? How much weight are you going to save anyway and will you really notice? Mine are for keeps and one day when I sell the bike, they will go with it.

I hope you won't one day regret this sale. GLWS  :thumb:

I might well regret the sale, as combined new these were £250.

I have already purchased the SW-Motech skid plate which is aluminium. I purposely bought the Gen 1 skid plate model as it doesn’t require engine bars to mount it. Only saves 2kg and is not as substantial by any means, but it will keep road muck and stone chipping to a minimum which is all I need for commuting. If you go off road or take gravel as speed, then the Heed skid plate is much better.

For engine bars I’m still undecided, the Heed were indeed excellent but I might go for crash bungs instead to save weight. I’m not going off road anymore (on this bike) so for road use bungs will work fine.

I getting a Honda CRF300 rally for playing off road. My wee will become my commuter and touring bike  :)

A CRF300! You are a lucky man  :lala:.  I'll bet the parts you are selling will be gone by tonight, good parts and good price, you'll make someone happy.  :thumb:
