Scorpion V1000 2017 Scorpion Serket
« on: July 19, 2017, 22:06:27 »
Just added a Scorpion Serket Carbon to my V1000 2017. After fitting I tried the factory panniers and the exhaust does touch the base. With a bit of leverage the pannier will fit on but I would not like the long term wear on the base, the exhaust bracket spacer just touches. Speaking to Scorpion, they said bring it in and they will see what can be done, so off to see them next week.
Expect a result soon, but so far the sound is great but not in town, out in the open road, hard excelleration puts out a very pleasing soundtrack, not too loud but pleasing. :thumb:

Looks great.
Can you post video of the sound, and passing by with the bike?

Yeah looks great, just ordered a 350mm Delkevic for my 650, hopefully I'll upgrade to the new 1000 at some stage in a few years.

jbaptista I'm working on the sound bite and video. Looking for a suitable bit of road where the camera won't get nicked  ###

Hello blokes , I fitted the same exhaust to my 16 plate and didn't use their spacer , just fitted straight on seemed to put stress on it trying to fit the spacer ? , my cases have loads clearance , if you want to put your old one back on you will need the spacer , so try get it of in one piece or if you're lucky it will be stuck to the one you're taking of , they're very expensive and not the same size as the older stroms , hope any of that helps,

You need the original rubber washer, between the exhaust and the mounting bracket, still fitted for guaranteed fitting recommendation.
Exhaust sound here.
No revving the nuts off it!

Scorpion have now modified the pipe to fit after my visit last week and we are offered 20% discount on any V strom exhaust if we get 5 or more buyers.

I like the Scorp cans, had one in my orevious Bandit.

On the 1000 does it have any affect on the 2-3k snatchy throttle reaponse? I ask because on my Bandit it smoothed that rev range out  completely.
In my defence, she did leave me unsupervised.

I have a remus cardon end can on mine, no difference in running, no bettet no worse, just the same. I had a fuel can before this though and that made her run worse up to 3k rpm but my 14 was a rough running one form new. X-tre and a throttle tamer sorted it out enough before the new ecu came along.

fitted one of these to my glee last year, fabulous sound and runs perfectly. It evan fuels better at low revs when in a high gear.

Since fitting the Scorpion, the bike feels fine. No rough spots or flat spots, if anything it feels like a better lower performance. I have tried it with the baffle in and out, little difference either way apart from louder. The factory gave me a spare baffle, and that was the one it was homalgamated with, no cap over the end. That sure makes a difference to the sound but not performance. Would be nice to have a dyno run to see if there is a difference in power with it in and out. For the moment I'm happy to stay legal.

As I can't edit my post, I was trying to say it has better low down torque.
And here are pictures of the factory baffle. Original homalgamation spec had no cap over the end. Looks like they have added a cap over the end to make it comply with tighter EU regs. Easy mod to original spec.  EU6 will not allow any removable parts, all welded in place, apparently, so make the most of it.
They are both the same size, through the picture makes the lower one look bigger.
