Hand Guards 2008 DL1000
(1/1)
GSX-R K1:
Hi All.
I'm having some trouble finding hand guards for my 08 DL1000.
Plenty for the 650. I don't want anything fancy, just something to divert the worst of the weather off.
Thanks in advance!

If it's just weather protection then maybe look at universal guards with a single point mount into the end of the bar.
Oxford make a set with aluminium backbones that serve as lever guards, about £50.

* The factory ones get very expensive once you add in the special handlebar balancers and barkbusters are bankbusters, although they are very good. The storm guards with the single universal mount are really solid and give the best weather protection I've come across, double the Oxford money though.

That's just the ticket! Thank you.

Have you ever used handlebar muffs? It's a while since I used them last on a Kawasaki but they are brilliant on even the coldest of days.
I have handguards on my bike and heated gloves but my fingers were cold on the Moor's at 2c the other day. I think I'll be buying muffs myself though I am going to try inner cloves first. :thumb:
I saw and photographed a BMW 650GS last week with muffs made out of Sainsburys shopping bags. They looked awful but I'll bet they worked, to a degree. I can't post pictures (I've tried) or I would show you. :thumb:

Or you could go mad and look at these.

Not to be a rolling SBS advert but these are excellent, me and the missus both bought them in a panic after an utterly Baltic ride over to SBS HQ last year. The ride home was vastly more pleasant for the purchase.
