Arundel Castle lower gate and my VStrom
« on: September 13, 2022, 21:17:31 »
A quick stop on the way to work yesterday, my first commute on my new (to me) L4.
It’s a great ride, and a longer trip, Chichester to Eastbourne today was brilliant too!
Quiet applause will do.

Oh me old stamping ground! Every time I go back now the volume of traffic seems to double.
The A272 was a sublime ride once, but it's brother, the A27, was always a bit grim.
Then they took the bends out of the A23 at Slaugham  ###

Hi Youngman, yes, building houses everywhere around, you’d not tecognose Horsham on the A24 if you haven’t been done for a few years.
A272 is still good, I’ve done most of it on a bike, and Ill take the along parts of it in the near future.
Arundel is a nice vape stop on the way to work though! 😀
Quiet applause will do.

The A272 was one of the country’s best roads until they went mad with the white paint. I left the South 25 years ago but, before I did,  in the Summer a group of us used to leave for a 07:00hrs shift at first light and ride the A30 from Virginia Water to Stockbridge, then the A272 all the way to Billingshurst, before using the A24 and M25 to get back to Chertsey to work. All on two stroke sports bikes or 400 grey imports.
Quite a commute bearing in mind our work was only a mile from where we lived! 😁
