I have built in padding

Seriously though, I have never felt the need to change the standard seat.

I think the Sargent and Corbin seats are just great - at least the ones I have had on other bikes have been. However they are very expensive and don't suit everyone so best to try first if you can. I think you seem to have got a pretty good price for yours Blue Lady - I'll look up your source when I have got the new bike. To begin with however I am actually fitting an old DL1000 seat (which I have had for about 5 years) and must say that I found it incredibly comfortable on the original bike - the only stock seat ever on any bike that I have bought which has been so comfortable) - and yet some people find them uncomfortable. I think it's a very personal thing to do with anatomical variation.

I have just bought a second hand Airhawk but have yet to try ut out. Everyone seems to swear by them and I think the trick is to put in just enough air to raise your backside of the seat (and no more). Anyone here tried one on a Strom? I paid £100 for mine which is cheaper than a new seat but seems very expensive for what you get.

I have one of those...the airhawk things...very comfy. just raises the seat height a tad though..which scares me a bit when negotiating loose ground..
I dig the idea of the sargents...alot of money though...but posh!!

blue lady.... do yo know if they stock them or do they order from the states...I emailed them but got no reply....I would fone them but I am scared of people.

Blue Lady, was wondering if you knew which model seat you bought - seems to be three types, was it

 Suzuki Standard Stock Seat
(Same as P/N# 45100-06G50-H1N) 32.30"
or Sargent World Sport Seat WS-552 33.00"

(have left out the high seat as I got short legs)

thanks

looks excellent watch out on the lights though the vstrom alternator does not have much to spare and they are very power hungry.

That Kaoko throttle thingy looks kind of funky, not seen those before.  You rate it?

I had an airhawk for a couple of weeks (cruiser small) but sent it back. I feel that the shape of the saddle causes the airhawk to inflate round your crown jewels even when you put only the slightest amount of air in it. It works alright, but when cornering it sloshes you around a little and I find it didn't suit my riding style. - I have just bought a second hand Sargent seat from ebay, and it works a lot better. If you are ever in preston, lancs I can swap seats and let you try it...

Cheers
