Ah, and here at far south we don't have biking seasons.

You lucky chap, was down in the SW corner of Portugal a couple of years ago...great riding and different than the NE.

Hi

Fitted a couple of ammo boxes to my Dakar pannier frames, and it looks OK.

Tried to fit the boxes behind the bike, but it slightly affected the handling, but carrying capacity could not be beaten.

First time riding since my knee operation at the start of December. Bloody freezing ride back into work. Felt great riding again though.
I think my handlebars are slightly bent from when the bike blew over in the wind. Not badly and can probably be left alone, but either way, tempted to replace with a set of renthals or something. Any recommendations for bars with extra utility for adding bits on like satnav mount, heated grip controllers etc etc?

A month and a half under a cover meant my chain needs a good clean because of the surface rust... Bit of a pest but meh.

Turned the bike around to prevent bearing flat spots, replaced a panel pin on the tail fairing near the grab rail as well as fitting a webbed seat cover to hopefully improve comfort.
(Not much, but it was 4 degrees in the bike cave :fix:)

Picked it up from the dealers.

It's in the garage now waiting for Monday so that I can tax it.

The older I get, the better I was.

Had the rear wheel re-spoked under warranty (cheers Haslemere), so dropped the wheel back in with a new tyre to scrub in.
In my defence, she did leave me unsupervised.

After a long hard summer from France ,Spain and the uk took the chance today to get the tank of and wash out air filter  :fix: :fix:
With the tank of I noticed the underneath of the tank covered in surface rust what a mess so after a good wipe down and quick going over with some wet&dry 3 coats of white metal spray paint it now looks better than new happy days
Filter washed out and re-oiled all back together and ready for its next hard summer

Just been to fetch her back from 'hospital'.  :)
Valve clearance check
Throttle bodies checked
Wheel bearings front & back, plus cush bearing (all provided by me)
4 x plugs (provided by me)
Front & rear tyres
Fresh coolant
Rear brake caliper serviced & brakes bled
MOT (had to fit number plate bulb)

Can't say it's like riding a new bike yet as the garage is only a mile home & on the wet & greasy roads it didn't feel nice with the new tyres so didn't have a ride out!!  :icon_no:

Just for information 39,499 miles and the valve clearances were all OK.
The front wheel bearing was OK but the back wheel bearing was fooked!
The throttle bodies were out & needed adjusting but he said he would of expected that.
He did mention play in the top shock bearing (up & down) but not a problem yet. May need to get it sorted for next year.

Put it this way Paul, it was the price of quite a few Yonderman breakfasts!!
However I'm hoping that it's all sorted now and other than a few consumables it'll see the bike out or more than likely me!!  :thumb:

Although I'm still thinking of fitting an aftermarket shock to it soon.

Maybe not so much riding 'to' as riding 'from'.
